A curandero/curandera is a word that means “ healer” in Spanish. found primarily in Spain and South America.
A curandero is a specialist in traditional medicine whose practice can either contrast with or supplement that of a practitioner of Western medicine or can also work alongside any kind of therapy.
A curandero is claimed to administer shamanistic and spiritistic remedies for mental, emotional, physical and “spiritual” illnesses.
About me
I come from a long line or curanderos.
The first time I was receiving reiki healing, it shocked me how similar it was to my hands on healing (that all curanderos in my culture do).
It was fascinating to see other cultures knew how to harvest healing energy and channel them in the exact same way.
